All you need is a Growth Mindset

The way you look at the world determines your effectiveness and growth.

The question of whether intelligence and skills (human capacities) are fixed or can be developed has been a subject of interest for scientists for a long time. There are roughly two sides to the debate. One side believes that capacities are fixed and not easily or significantly trainable, while the other side argues that people can further develop their capacities and experience personal growth. The mindset is a decisive factor in this discussion.

American psychologist Carol Dweck (Stanford University 2007) discovered that there are two types of mindsets: a fixed mindset (with fixed beliefs) and a growth mindset (open to growth).

Individuals with a fixed mindset perceive themselves and others as individuals with a set of capabilities and shortcomings. They believe there is little that can be done about it; you either can play football, or you can't. On the other hand, individuals with a growth mindset see the world as a vast learning playground where you can discover all sorts of things and continually reinvent yourself. It's easy to understand that people with a growth mindset more easily develop new skills and undergo personal growth, with all the positive consequences that come with it.
